6 Months in the blink of an eye

It’s hard to believe that Ewan turns 6 months today.  What’s even stranger is that Lilly is back at work now and on July 6th I’m back at work and Ewan starts fulltime schooling.

The month of June has been pretty busy. Ewan has continued eating solids and so far he has tried tried apples, avocados and melon. Despite some funny faces he seems to be enjoying himself.

With the World Cup starting we’ve been spending most days glued to the TV but we’ve found time to go on a few trips. We had one visit to my work for Paraguay vs Italy, a weekly trip to Google to see Lilly and even a trip to Aldo’s to watch the France vs Mexico game with Manny and Ana.  It was all going fine until Mexico scored and the roar from the fans in the restaurant made Ewan start bawling.  It will no doubt be the first of many tearful experiences when it comes to watching football.  He did get to be feed by Ana wearing Lilly’s favorite bib.

He is also continuing the proud Osborne tradition of visiting pubs. He went to the same pub in SF twice in the same week, not bad for a 6 month old.

World Cup 2010

We can’t seem to find the flags that we had during the last World Cup. http://jamieandlilly.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html.

So, we will just use our son to advertise the World Cup fever going on in our house right now.

We are way lacking on the Portugal gear, so Lucas will have to help us with that one.

Changes abound

Things are a little different in the Osborne household these days. In the last week I have gone back to work, Jamie has started paternity leave, Ewan has started grabbing his feet, rolling from his back to his tummy, and eating solid foods! Wow, lots of changes for all of us.

It has been very tough for me to go back to work. At first it seemed like it’d be fine, but for some reason this week is even tougher for me .  I find myself missing Ewan so much during the day and then that hour commute home is unbearable! Luckily, it is nice to know he is home with Jamie who has been enjoying his paternity leave greatly. He even manages to get Ewan to sleep way more than I ever could (and Ewan still manages to sleep through the night).

Jamie has been bringing Ewan to visit me at my school as well as taking Ewan to visit his classroom. They have a ceiling fan so Ewan spends most of the time staring at the fan and breathing excitedly.

Here are some photos and a video of Ewan's recent milestones…

What are these fun things?

Rolling this way is not quite as exciting as the other way, but it gets me where I need to go
