Music and Dancing (and Sports)

Our family has had a rough go of it lately. Most of you who read this blog already know about the things we have been going through with my extended family, my grandmother's passing, attempting to do a short sale on our house, and my tough year at work. It has been a lot to take in and I have been sad in a way that I haven't before or maybe just in so long I cannot remember. Luckily, things are improving (at least some of them). Coming out of the fog, I am grateful for my family and friends that have supported all of us during this time. It makes me realize how lucky we are to have such a strong support system when we need it and, luckily, we rarely do. Thank you to all who offered support in the form of babysitting, a phone call, an ear, or a hug. I love you all very, very much.

Let's move on to the happy things in life like my wonderful child. He really does make it hard to dwell on sad things with all his adorableness. He adores music. That is nothing new except that now he makes up songs and air drums ferociously. He dances up a storm whenever possible. He screams "loud, Mama" in the car when the music is on low. His preferred playlist these days: Party Rock (he calls it "shuffling"), Dynamite (he calls it "Singing Eggo"), and Double Dutch Bus (plus his usual favorite Beatles tunes). He loves to dance and we rock out in his room on weekends.

Here are 2 videos from his school of him dancing with all his friends. The second one is 3 minutes...I couldn't help myself, but you can move to 1:12 for some good breakdancing, 2:00 for some good arm action if you can't handle watching the whole thing.

His teacher sent us these pictures of him using a shelf as a piano and singing Beatles tunes:

I promise to share air drumming video as soon as I get it.

As is customary for my blog posts, here is bonus video. This one is of him attempting a field goal at a birthday party for his cousins, Ian and Drew. Not bad for his first time!

Some parting advice from Ewan:
Save your money and get plenty of rest.
