England July/August 2011

We had an amazing trip. It was a perfect balance of busy and relaxed, staying "home" (at Nana's) and being away.
We had a vacation within our vacation at Center Parcs, a holiday camp in the Lake District. We all rented bikes to get us around the car-free roads and trails. It was beautiful and had a number of fun things for Ewan to do: swimming, parks, feeding owls, feeding ducks, playing in the sand by the lake, soccer for kids, and even a teddy bear's picnic. I personally loved the play areas within each pub as did Ewan...

It was also wonderful to see the Osbornes from Scotland who met us in Center Parcs. It was our first time meeting Kai and their first time meeting Ewan. The 3 boys (Zak, Kai and Ewan) had a great time running around together in the woods and dancing. Here is a bit of their dance party. Ewan wanted the music off and for me to sing his favorite dancing song. You'll notice a nice tackle from Ewan at the end here which is his true sign of affection...

We then went to London for a few days where we stayed with Uncle Stuart (otherwise known as Unc Goo-gat). We saw Sarah twice, Keith, Joe, and Mandy and Liam. Ewan enjoyed meeting everyone and calling out their names.
We were amazed at how adjustable Ewan was to all the traveling, new homes, and new cribs/cots. He slept anywhere including in his stroller on trains and the Underground. He did fabulous on both plane rides. We are both very proud of him (and happy to know traveling with him is not as bad as we imagined it could be).
Of course, the best part about the trip was how obvious it was that Ewan adored his Nana, Unc Goo-gat and Mike (Nana's boyfriend). He just loved being around them and was sad when they would leave the room (so he would scream their name until their return!). That was definitely the most special part of the trip although there were a few funny moments I won't soon forget such as Ewan yelling out "move" over and over when there was a back-up boarding the train, Ewan wanting to continuously high-five the giant teddy bear at the teddy bear's picnic, and Ewan yelling "hold this" to Nana's cats and then saying "kitty, hands?" for days upon learning the cats could not hold his toys.

We have almost 750 photos. I didn't put them all here, but most of them! I did separate them into more digestible albums. Hope you enjoy as we did :)
